How they work...
Our Gel Portable Fireplaces begin with a steel grate holding a ceramic log as seen below. You place the Gelfuel Container behind the ceramic log and light the fuel with a long nose lighter or a long match. After about a minute the flames will be dancing well above the log complete with "POP and CRACKLE" all enclosed and protected by a solid steel firebox.
The Steel Firebox is enclosed within a solid wood, decorative styled wall or corner fireplace ready to be placed against any wall in your home. This completes the look so you now may have a real flame fireplace in any room in your home that can be moved at any time should you wish to rearrange your furniture.

Each canister of Gel Fuel contains a base of IPA (isopropyl alcohol) which has been "Gelled" so it stays in the canister. Each can burns for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. You may use up to 3 cans if you wish to have a larger, warmer fire. While burning there is no smoke or fumes and it only releases a small quantity of Carbon Dioxide...the same gas we breathe out after each breath along with small amounts of water vapor. They have passed all test for safety and are hypoallergenic.
The clear alcohol based Gel burns cleanly giving a real flame that's easy to use with no mess and because there is no flue, all the heat is projected into the room. Each can creates about 3500 BTUs of warmth. They are not designed for a primary heating source, but they have help my family out during winter power outages. It was 28 degrees outside and 3 cans brought our den to a much more comfortable 68 degrees last Winter.
